Support planning in a new era
21 October 2010 - 30 November 2010The Supporting People programme was launched in April 2003 with the aim of providing housing-related support to develop and sustain an individual’s capacity to live independently in their preferred home. Effective support planning has been key to achieving this outcome.
Organiser: The Centre for Housing and Support, First Floor Elgar House, Shrub Hill Road, Worcester WR4 9EE
Location: Worcester and London
Since 2003, we have seen the development of outcomes-focused and person-centred support planning within a context of personalisation, direct payments and individual budgets as well as the introduction of new technological support planning tools.
This seminar revisits support planning in the new social and political environment, considers the role of support planning in relation to personalisation, examines truly person centred approaches and evaluates the role of support planning in facilitating independence, empowerment and choice.
