ASAP Code of Practice passports Worcestershire alarm services through the 6 core objectives of the QAF
Dear Colleagues
SUPPORTING PEOPLE SERVICE REVIEWS FOR ALARM SERVICES
I have received a copy letter from Pat MacWilliam at Redditch Borough Council which she has received from Worcestershire County Council Supporting People Manager in relation to the above. An extract from that letter reads:
"With regard to call alarm services, it has been agreed that providers who have been accredited by the Association of Social Alarms Providers (ASAP) Part 1 and or Part 11 (as applicable to the alarm type provided) can be passported through Supporting People six core objectives within the QAF. (Please note that if you subcontract for your alarm service you can be passported if the alarm provider is accredited by ASAP). It is proposed that these services are initially graded a level C. It is recommended that the Supporting People interim contract for these services be extended for 18 months. A full review of this service type across the hole of the county will commence in line with a best value audit of this provision and the Worcestershire Social Services Older Person Housing and Support Strategy for future contracting arrangements. ......
If you do sign up to the ASAP Code of Practice we will postpone your Supporting People review pending your achievement of the standards. You will need to send us a copy of your resgistration and assurance that you will met the standards by March 2006."
I am sure you will find this extract of interest in terms of your own Supporting People Service Reviews. If you have any comments please contact me on marian.preece@asap-uk.org or 01606 872333.
Kind regards
