Skills for Care Event

Posted on 11 Apr, 2012

Skills for Care is the Sector Skills Council for social care in England.  As such it has a responsibility to ensure that workforces are equipped with the right skills and knowledge to be able to do their job to a high standard.  Increasingly, this means that they are looking at areas such as Assistive Living Technologies (including Telehealth and Telecare) and the skills and knowledge that staff need to develop to make sure that these are part of the range of solutions that can be offered to help people that have health and social care needs.

The Department of Health has now published the initial findings of the Whole System Demonstrator programme and has asked for the involvement of Skills for Care in the 3millionlives campaign.  The aim of this campaign is to improve the lives of 3 million people over the next five years through the use of Telehealth and Telecare technologies.

As a result of this involvement, Skills for Care are running an initial workshop to engage and further their understanding regarding perspectives and approaches to the training and development of staff in the delivery of Assistive Living Technologies to support service users.

The event will take place at:
