Gerry Allmark

Gerry Allmark is a service provider representative from England on the TSA's Board.

Gerry is now the Telecare/Telehealth Manager with London Borough of Newham, one of the three organisations selected by the Department of Health for the Whole System Demonstrator trial. He took up his post in March this year and has long championed the use of telecare through his work with TSA and partner organisations in health, social care and the supply sector.  

 

Gerry has worked in the Public Sector since 1993 when he became Service Manager with Guildford Borough Council�s Department of Housing and Health Services. 

 

In 1998 Gerry took up the post of Telecare Services Manager with the Emergency Communications Service for Guildford Borough Council.  This role involved developing telecare services locally and for corporate clients across the UK. Apart from Gerry's management responsibilities for the control centre he developed various telecare strategies within Guildford and across Surrey. Gerry aslo helped to raise the profile of telecare by carrying out personal briefings with Members of Parliament and also worked closely with the County Council on the development of strategies and policies relating to Surrey�s Preventative Technology Grant allocation.

 

Prior to joining Guildford Borough Council Gerry worked in ICT where he held a variety of technical and management roles with Texas Instruments, Shell UK and the Nat-West Bank group.

 

Gerry is passionate about developing technology to assist vulnerable people to live more independently and fully supports the philosophy of TSA to raise standards within the industry.
