Partnerships for Older People Projects
Partnerships for Older People Projects (POPPs) aim to test and evaluate innovative approaches that sustain prevention work in order to improve outcomes for older people.
POPPs were launched by the Department of Health in March 2005. 19 councils received funding in phase 1 and 10 local authority partnerships received funding in phase 2 which was launched in December 2006. £18.5 million was awarded to the phase 2 pilots and the new sites will be established from 1st May 2007. They will receive support from the Care Services Improvement Partnership. Together with the successful first round pilot sites, POPPS projects will now cover 9 regions around the country.
