Influencing Government and Regulators
England
TSA played a central role in the development of the Department of Health (DH) Paper 'Building Telecare in England' in 2005 and continues to represent member organisations on the DH's Telecare Advisory Network. TSA works with the Department for Communities and Local Government on matters related to the Supporting People Programme and Fire and Rescue legislation. In addition TSA plays a crucial role with NHS PASA (Purchasing and Supply Agency) in the National Framework Agreement for Telecare procurement process.
Wales
TSA continues to be involved with the Welsh Assembly in the development of its Telecare Strategy with the TSA Code of Practice accepted as the quality standard for the delivery of telecare in Wales. TSA is involved with the Welsh Supporting People Information Network on matters relating to the Supporting People Programme.
Scotland
TSA has been involved in discussions with the Scottish Executive's Joint Improvement Team regarding its Telecare Development Programme and the role the TSA Code of Practice may have in Scotland as the quality standard for the delivery of telecare in Scotland. At the invitation of the Joint Improvement Team, a TSA representative is to participate in meetings of the Joint Improvements Team's Telecare Programme Board.
Northern Ireland
Currently TSA has five member organisations from Northern Ireland. 2007 will see a determined effort to engage with Commissioners in Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland.
