BT21 CN Update 1 June

TSA is facilitating close working between BT & the Supply Sector to prepare Telecare Service providers for the migration to 21CN. The first 300 BT customer lines have already been transferred in Wick, South Wales. The Cardiff area will be the Pathfinder site during 2007 with a national roll-out commencing during 2008 after careful analysis of the lessons from the early pilots. With support from BT, the Supply Sector is building a programme to test all Telecare  / Social Alarm communication equipment across a simulated 21CN environment. When available, results will be published by BT on their 21CN site.

Based on specific service provider workshop output, a FAQ list has been developed & will be added to as issues & solutions arise in South Wales & beyond. This detailed  information on the potential impact of 21CN on providers & their service users is available only in the Members Area of this site.

BT21CN presented at the TSA AGM in May, the PowerPoint slides are available here for viewing.

BT will also run a Workshop at the National conference in Cardiff in November click here for details
