Endorsements of the Code of Practice

The Department of Communities and Local Government (previously the ODPM) has recognised the TSA Code of Practice with Passport Status in England within the Supporting People Framework. Service Providers achieving accreditation to the Code of Practice can be accepted by Supporting People Teams as having achieved a Level C in the Quality Assessment Framework.

NHS PASA (Purchasing and Supply Agency) has recognised the TSA Code of Practice as the benchmark standard for the delivery of telecare within its National Framework Agreement for Telecare.

With the advent of the Preventative Technology Grant in England many County Councils are developing Telecare Strategies and the Code of Practice is seen as the quality standard required for the delivery of Telecare eg Cheshire County Council, County Durham, Lancashire County Council.

The Welsh Assembly Government has included in its Telecare Guidelines that the TSA Code of Practice is the quality standard to be attained in the delivery of telecare in Wales.

The Scottish Executive is in discussion with TSA with regard to the Code of Practice and its Telecare Development Programme.
