3millionlives
TSA has worked closely with Government for over fifteen years. TSA is a lead-partner in the 3millionlives collaboration, which is focusing on the transformation of services utilising the huge benefits, as evidenced by the Whole System Demonstrator findings, that telehealth and telecare can bring across health and social care. Information is regularly updated about progress within 3millionlives.
NOWIP
NOWIP is an alliance of TSA Technology Supplier members and other technology stakeholders, who are working to deliver an IP (Internet Protocol) for the delivery of telecare and telehealth, and looking at bringing the benefits of new capabilities to the telecare and telehealth market. The objectives of the group are to collaborate to gain experience with the new technology, to gain an understanding of how it can be used effectively, and to develop and bring appropriate Internet protocols to the market. NOWIP is open to organisations to join by invitation, or subject to a majority vote of existing members and the signing of an NDA. For further information about NOWIP, or to express an interest in joining, please contact the TSA office.
Technology Strategy Board - ALIP CONNECT
TSA is a partner in a Technology Strategy Board (TSB) project that aims to build on the previous TSB Assisted Living Innovation Platform (ALIP) projects to develop unbranded Assisted Living (AL) services or tools that can be downloaded from an online store, a "toolbox", from which service providers in the private, public and third sectors can select services to rebrand for their own use. The project, called CONNECT, will investigate the potential business and revenue models open to organisations who are new to the assisted living market who wish to provide services to the informal and statutory care markets. Multiple marketing and care co-ordination benefits will arise from connection of a full range of services through sharing a common framework and data store. The project will examine a range of branding, subscription, usage and licensing models and explore their cultural and social impact. The project will test the scalability of deploying AL service models in real-life, at scale. The project will also test the contractual/ procedural and accreditation processes of bringing together services in a common framework or toolbox to small and medium sized enterprises to generate innovative add-on services.
HoIP is a member of TSA and the Project Leader for CONNECT, while other partners include Carers UK, Microsoft, Docobo, BRE, London School of Economics (LSE) Enterprise, Advanced Digital Institute (ADI) and Foundation for Assistive Technology (FAST).
The two year project runs through to the autumn of 2013.
TeleSCoPE
TeleSCoPE, an EU funded project, is aiming to develop a comprehensive European Code of Practice for Telehealth Services. TSA is able to bring to this project its vast experience in developing and implementing its own Telecare and Telehealth Code of Practice.
TeleSCoPE will, through establishing service standards, help establish relationships of trust between patients and providers and contribute to overall health and well-being. The standards will provide a quality benchmark for service regulation in member states. Other standards including technical (for example, interoperability) and information (privacy, etc) will be referenced.
The strategic relevance relates to the fit with EU initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles, healthy workforce and healthy life-years, social inclusion, and engagement, economic and social development, ICT application and co-ordination of policies and programmes within member states.
The main output will be a Code of Practice and detailed plans to facilitate its adoption and continued development. The main outcome will be adoption of the Code and its use within member states to underpin service frameworks that contribute to the well-being of EU citizens.
TSA is partnering with other European states including Slovenia, Belgium, Italy, Ireland and Hungary. The project leader is Coventry University Ltd.

MOMENTUM
TSA is a partner in an EU funded project called MOMENTUM (European Momentum for mainstreaming Telemedicine deployment in daily practice). The value of telemedicine (Telehealth) services is becoming recognised by services are not part of routine healthcare delivery. The project aims to address the roadblocks such as organisational and legal uncertainties, change management issues, and service sustainability, and create a recognised and validated method and tools for deploying services.
Expected outcomes are, an established and sustainable network of telehealth practitioners and key stakeholder groups, a collection of good practice and experience in methods of telehealth deployment into routine care, a European deployment blueprint, and a widespread dissemination of the good practice.
TSA is partnering with 20 organisations in over a dozen member states and will bring its experience and knowledge on standards in telecare and telehealth, as well as delivery of these services, to the project.
TSA members will hear first about these projects, and be at the forefront of any benefits that these projects bring to the industry.
